Check back for exciting details of Palmetto Animal League's new ANIMAL HOUSE THRIFT STORE which will soon be moving to a new and bigger location. This means a better shopping opportunity for you, and it means we can help even more animals as we work toward building a no-kill community, with the ultimate goal of our brand new animal shelter. In the meantime, you'll still find a variety of good quality,gently worn clothes,furniture,home accessories,kitchenware,rugs,baskets, and much more at our present location: Burnt Church Park in Bluffton. THE 2ND ANNUAL PALMETTO ANIMAL LEAGUE WALK & RUN FOR THE ANIMALS

The Run Forrest Run Charity 5K Walk/Run for the Animals is coming on Sunday May 18, 2008 at Oscar Frasier Park, Bluffton, from 3pm-5pm. The mission of the Palmetto Animal League is to eliminate the needless suffering of animals in the Beaufort County area. The Palmetto Animal League has been rescuing animals for more than 35 years in the Low country and continues to make a difference by reducing the number of stray animals and by spaying and neutering each pet before they are adopted – over 5000 animals to date. Run Forrest Run is a fundraiser to support the programs Palmetto Animal League offers to the community to help the animals. Inspired by the Animal League’s cat Forrest, who is handicapped, Run Forrest Run will remind us all that we can do it and we can make a difference! This year, the Palmetto Animal League introduces a new face to the Run Forrest Run 5K Charity Run/Walk for the Animals and has created pledge incentives for both adults and kids and fun prizes for the Top Ten Winners. Pets are welcome and encouraged to attend; water stations will be set up along the path for everyone. Festivities will continue after the Walk/Run and will include: The Dog Bone Hunt and Doggie Derby for your four-legged friend. PAL ANNUAL GOLF TOURNAMENT

COME OUT AND PLAY

On Monday, September 29, 2008, come spend the day at beautiful Belfair on the spectacular West course with us! The golf format will be a four-person shamble, (best drive is selected and all four players play their own ball from there) two best net scores. Awards will be given for the teams with the lowest scores, longest drive in the fairway, closest to the pin, straightest drive, and more. A package including 2 mulligans, 1 free kick, and 5 raffle tickets will be available for $20 each. Individuals and teams are welcome! Several different levels of sponsorships are available, as well as donation levels. We also have a custom-designed, personalized pet Christmas ornament that is perfect for your family and friends with pets - order now and have your Christmas shopping done (one ornament will be included in your tee gift package).
