Cruelty Reward Program
| The Palmetto Animal League has established a reward program for individuals that provide Beaufort County Animal Care and Control (BCACC) with information leading to the arrest and conviction of persons committing animal cruelty, including gross neglect and dog fighting.
To keep those reporting animal cruelty anonymous, we have established a way that they may collect an earned reward without their identity being disclosed. The following is the procedure that we have implemented:
- Animal cruelty is reported to BCACC by calling 846-3904
- If the caller (Concerned Citizen) wishes to remain anonymous that person will not be asked to be identified, is given an identification number, and is asked to call back at periodic intervals (say every two weeks) to check on the progress of the case.
Once the case is heard in court and the offender is convicted, the concerned citizen will collect the reward directly from the bank where BHA 's reward funds are held. The Concerned Citizen will go to the bank, meet with the bank's contact person, provide an identification number, and collect the reward. |
