About PAL
| Palmetto Animal League (formerly Beaufort Humane Association) serves all of Beaufort County, South Carolina. With no shelter facilities, PAL relies on people to open their homes. We currently have several animals in foster care waiting to be adopted. |
| Mission Statement
The mission of the Palmetto Animal League is to eliminate the needless suffering of animals in the Beaufort County area.
To achieve that mission, PAL provides:
- Low cost spay/neuter program for the pets of low and moderate income individuals.
- Pet assistance program to elderly individuals. This program provides veterinary care for the pets of senior citizens.
- Cost reduction spay/neuter programs for pets adopted from local shelters.
- Children's educational programs regarding pet care and the humane treatment of animals.
- Publication and distribution of educational material regarding pet care, the humane treatment of animals, and promotion of animal shelter adoption.
- Support for State and local animal welfare legislation and initiatives.
